Robswall Phase 2
Robswall is a large residential development of 540 dwellings located on the coast to the south of Malahide village. Construction of phase 2 of this scheme re-commenced in 2014 under a new developer, Hollybrook New Homes.

The Hollybrook part of Robswall consists of a formal Avenue road fronting to the public space and enclosing the formal core focused around a park and two crescents. The Terrace, which is a more informal mews development, runs through the centre of the scheme and is inspired by Irish vernacular seaside settlements.
The Meadow, which forms the third and final part of the Hollybrook site, and which comprises of split-level houses and apartments, gives enclosure and presence to the side of the scheme which faces the public park.
The most challenging aspect from a design and construction point of view was the topography of the site. An average gradient of 1 in 14 across the site, complicated further by high density and tight planning, led to many design and technical detailing challenges.
This issue was overcome in the design stage by close working relationships between the design consultants and the contractor, strategic placement of planter beds, steeped gardens and careful planning to avoid knock-on effects on adjacent houses within a tightly constrained site.

Through attention to detail, high-quality workmanship and carefully thought out design this development was a finalist in the Irish Construction Awards and in 2015 won a European Property Awards for the best Residential Development (as part of the International Property Awards).
